Most motorcycle engines have a lubrication system that includes an oil pump, some form of oil tank and a delivery system. Any external oil lines on a bike have a very hard life which may see internal temperatures exceeding 100 degrees centigrade and external temperatures dropping below freezing. They have to be capable of withstanding pressure over 100 pounds per square inch, remain flexible if made of rubber or resist fracturing if made of metal.

What do they have to withstand ?

All this and the ability to withstand engine vibration and exposure to extreme weather conditions... But there is a cure - Most OEM hoses can be fully or partially replaced using the HEL range of high performance oil hose and fittings in. Our range of stainless steel braided oil hose offers a minimum burst pressure of 5,000 psi, features a patented AQP elastomer which is resistant to oxidation, the effects of ozone and various other agents within air.

Some of our kits do require parts of the OEM hoses to remain on the system in order to be fitted. For example some OEM hoses have specialist flanges fitted to either the cooler, the engine or both. It may be necessary to cut the original hose out of these lines so that two metal pipes are left to which our kit can be fitted. If you require clarification please email us for further information.
